I’m so addicted to healthy food lately. And I think i kind of have to be if im going to gym and try to build some muscle. But I’ve never been the type to like sweet potatoes. They always seemed so yuck to me growing up and I hated the ‘sweetness’. I didn’t get it. I didn’t get the fuss over them. Till I grew up. Now I cannot absolutely wait to put them in my mouth and devour them 😍 a mini orgasm in my mouth.
Here is one of the recipes I’ve come to love when it comes to sweet potatoes. I don’t like the traditional boiled and spiced sweet potatoes. It seems bland and boring so one day I bumped into this beautiful roasted sweet potato with green yoghurt sauce recipe and I can finally say I know what love is. LOL.
Hope you love it…
* 2 large sweet potatoes, cut lengthwise into wedges
* 1 tablespoon of cornstarch or arrowroot powder
* 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
* 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
* 1 teaspoon of sea salt
* Pinch of fresh ground pepper
Green Yoghurt Sauce
* 1 cup of Greek yoghurt or unsweetened coconut Yoghurt
* 2 tablespoons of tahini Paste or sesame seed oil/seeds
* 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
* 1/2 cup of basil leaves
* 2 tablespoons of parsley leaves
* 1 tablespoon of cilantro leaves
* 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
* 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
* Fresh pepper
1. Preheat oven on 200^C/425^F, line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside
2. Place wedges and cornstarch in a large plastic bag and toss/shake to coat evenly. Transfer the wedges to a large bowl and add olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Spread the wedges on to your baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes, stopping halfway through to flip them over. Until the edges are browned.
3. While the potatoes bake, make your sauce. Combine all your ingredients into an upright blender. Until it’s well chopped and the sauce is green in colour.
4. Serve the potatoes warm with the sauce on the side.
Hey everyone 😀 Hope you’re feeling glowy and extra saucy this festive season.
🍲 This my absolute favourite time of the year & I’m over the moon excited. With Christmas just right around the corner, I’m watching myself and what I put into my body more than ever because it’s so easy to munch on comfort food and festive goodies and treats especially since the whole family is here.
(Self created meal at the fantastic restaurant The Generator in Parkmore, Sandton in South Africa)
🍚Luckily though, I’ve recently become such a health conscious eater, cutting down on white bread, drinking more water, I barely eat junk food now, I’ve cut down on rice etc 🍱 speaking of rice, I’ve kinda sorta replaced it with couscous and in my books it’s GLORIOUS. Better than rice, macaroni and quinoa it’s healthier and lighter. It takes a little longer to prepare and needs more tender loving not just sprinkling some salt and pouring water. It’s all so worth it though.
(Woolworths has the best ready-prepared, ready-to-go meals, especially for anyone eating clean 👌 Perfection.)
🍲 It has so many perks too. For example, the potassium in couscous regulates blood pressure and your heartbeat. It helps control fluid balance and assists with muscle contractions.
I’ve recently been going through the absolute most, family issue, work issues, creative issues, but the one thing that’s kept me going is balance. B A L A N C E. In every aspect. 🍒
This balance I’m talking about isn’t only about my food intake (what I put into my body) but also what comes out of my mouth, what I think of myself, how I think of myself, what I think of others, my stressors etc, because I, too, believe A LOT in manifestation. “What you put out to the world, is what you’ll get back” type of thing. Because of all this, I’m constantly working on reinventing myself. Im constantly encouraging myself. I’m constantly thinking of ways to make me happy, to make the people in my life happy, & that all takes balance. A health balance, mental balance, emotional balance, spiritual balance & social balance. 🌞
I’ve learnt to construct a life, a plan, lifestyle & routine for ME. That works for me. So I challenge you as well,to create a life for YOU. A comfortable, balanced life for you. You’ll thank YOU for it. You’ll be so proud of YOU and you’ll love YOU more. 🍒 For tips & advice on wellness programs, comment your questions or DM me on Instagram (@KingNiita). I’m always here you. Always.
I’ve been such a junk food freak for the past 4 months and it’s definitely taking its toll on me & my body. I’m slowly but surely getting a flappy belly and gaining weight like I’m losing my marbles. And I’m not impressed by myself to say the least.
I truly believe in that saying “actions speak louder than words ” and I’m taking all the actions I possibly can. Eating healthy, keeping hydrated and moisturized, gyming, loving and smiling more etc. So I thought why not share my wellness program thus far that I’ve created for detoxing and keeping healthy:
* Cucumber water
– A third of a cucumber
– Half a lemon
– Mint leaves
– 1 liter of water
* Cut junk food from your diet

– 20 crunches

So, confession; I stalk Beyoncé Knowles ALL THE TIME, and I’m not ashamed. Not at all. I mean, she’s AMAZING!
So best believe when again saw her sheer, Victorian-inspired white gown made by designer Inbal Dror, I fell off my chair in tears. And to think it’s actually a wedding dress but it looks perfect. Perfect for the Grammy’s. My favorite Yoncé gown to date.
She looks like she just stepped out of heaven. So clean, so graceful. She looked breath taking. I have no words to describe the beauty that is Mrs Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter.
Hey dolls! Hope you’re keeping well and swell! I’m great. I’m fantastic! And I’m having a week of fun with different kinds of cosmetics and with the following edition posts I will be sharing my experience and which products i love from my favorite make up lines. So, concealers first! Let’s go!
Nars baby! What’s not to love about Nars cosmetics? They’re amazing. The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is PERFECT. Its amazing for evenings out with the girls and even dinners dates. IT DOESN’T CREASE. Thank God! It removes all the dark marks, blemishes and circles under the eyes. Its my favorite.
Another fan favorite and one of the best in the business of cosmetics is, Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener. You and I both know that Bobbi Brown never disappoints. And I can, with confident, say that its worth every penny. Plus its really inexpensive. Check it out!
Mac! Mac! Mac! Their brand name, alone, compatures everyone’s attention so now that there’s the Mac Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer every girl is gonna fall in love with Mac all over again. Its water resistant and fragrance free. I love the fact that it comes in a range of shade. So perfect? I believe so.
My top 3 Favourites, so go ahead, try them. Leave your comments on what you think, whether you’ve tried something similar and let’s have an open dialogue on beauty, face care and concealers… Tell your friends and family. Share and like.
Hey dolls. Hope you’ve been keeping well and keeping sexy. Its been a long while. A dreadful while but I’ve got LOTS to update you on so… Let’s go!
So, every winter (PS: its autumn in South Africa but my body’s reacting like its winter. Ugh), I always get the rash. Hate it. And if you know me well, you’d know that I absolutely love my skin and I’m a huge lover of homemade creams and lotions cause a girl’s gotta ball on a budget boo. Ain’t nobody got time for all of that hefty spending.
So I’ve been on the look out for amazing body creams and lotion, and you know me, I TRUST, coconut oil with a burning passion.
So BOOM BANG POOF! I found the perfect, yet VERY SIMPLE body care regime.
Coconut E Lotion!!!
You simply mix EXTRA VIRGIN coconut oil with vitamin E (a few capsules), use a mixer to blend them perfecting together and POW! you’ve got an amazing, smooth and creamy skin oil. I must warn you though, its quite greasy, so if you wanna make it a little thicker, experts say beeswax is absolutely perfect.
So go ahead, try it. Leave your comments on what you think, whether it worked for you or not, whether you’ve tried something similar and let’s have an open dialogue on beauty, loving your skin and creams. Tell your friends and family. Share and like.
